Their celebrations may be rather different than those of other countries because of the Argentinian climate. In America Christmas occurs in winter and many parts of the country are used to cold weather and snow at Christmas time. In Argentina, Christmas occurs in the summer when the hot, dry winds called zonda blow from the equatorial north.
Argentinians like to celebrate in their own particular style using traditional Argentinian Christmas recipes. Because of the heat, the Christmas dinner is usually served outside in the shade under a tree or trellis or on a veranda. The table is decorated with rosebuds and jasmine instead of candles.
Argentinians like a roast at Christmas. Argentinian Christmas recipes for a roast suckling pig as the main course, which is often accompanied by 3-inch square pieces of steak that have been rolled and stuffed with mincemeat, seasoned olives, hard boiled eggs and spices.
