Babies are too young to know anything about the significance of Christmas, but they do sense the air of excitement around them. To draw them more fully into the celebrations, many parents will buy baby Christmas costumes and dress their baby in clothes that represent the season. Baby Santa costumes are like sleep suits available for both boys and girls. The suits are red and sometimes have white on the collar and cuffs and may also have a little picture of Santa in the middle of the chest. To go with these suits, parents can buy their baby a Santa hat to go with the costume. These hats are specially made to fit babies to be comfortable on their heads.

Other parents will dress their baby as an angel. Angel Christmas costumes for babies are often made at home. All that the baby needs is a long white dress or a white romper suit. You can use some pipecleaners to make a headband and cover it in foil to represent a halo. You can buy the dresses complete with a set of soft angel's wings if you don't want to make your own.
