One can insert phone cards, as a subtle hint for those people you might not have heard from in a long time. Some even come with small blinking fiber optic lights, in the spirit of the season.
However, there will always be a place for the antique or old-fashioned Christmas card. Christmas is about a time of nostalgia and innocence for many people, and receiving a laced card or one created by children in the spirit of giving is particularly touching. Creating the retro Christmas cards can also be a family project and a time of togetherness complete with rubber stamps, foils, glue, and glitter.
Many families want that personal touch, but don't have the time to do an old fashioned Christmas card. Instead, they opt for photo Christmas cards, which still makes it personal but without a lot of the work.
